Jubilee River - 14.02.15

A walk along the Jubilee River from Maidenhead to Eton and Windsor.

The Jubilee River was completed in 2002 at a cost of c.£110m. It was constructed to alleviate flooding in Maidenhead, Windsor, Eton and Cookham but has been widely blamed for the 2014 flooding of Wraysbury further downstream. There are plans to extend the flood channel from Datchet to Teddington estimated at a further £300m.

Despite some uninspiring scenery and constant noise (M4, Heathrow jets, trains, dog kennels, etc) the path seemed popular with dog walkers and cyclists.
